Finding a foundation for olive skin is never easy: they are usually either too yellow or too orange, too dark or too light, or they tend to turn gray and flatten the face while all that we want is a light product that enhances our Mediterranean complexion and at the same time uniforms the skin tone, covers imperfections and remains lightweight and invisible on the skin.
Is that too much we’re asking for? Maybe it is, but no one ever said it was easy to keep up with us! 🙂
Intrigued by the concept and the positive reviews I’ve seen around on blogs and on Youtube I decided to buy and try the foundation Invisiwear by EX1 Cosmetics. The brand was founded by biochemistry Farah Naz and the thing that struck me the most was the fact that she wanted to develop a product that was targeted exclusively to “ethnic” skins – especially Asian, Mediterranean, Exotic, Middle Eastern and Far Eastern; in short, all those ethnic groups who have a skin with a naturally yellow or “olive” undertone that often can not find anything on the market that fully represents their not Caucasian complexion- especially at such a low cost. This explains the limited number of shades in this foundation, which happen to be only 5: there are no shades designed for people with a very pale complexion (which usually have a pink / cool undertone) or for black people (who usually have a red undertone).
You can find a chart on the EX1 website where you can compare these shades with the MAC‘s ones and various photos to find your perfect match.
Although I am in a NW20-25 in MAC colors, for summer I purchased the shade F200 and I must say that with a little tan is really perfect for my skin.
The cost is about 15 ? for 30 ml of the product; I have purchased it on Lookfantastic.com which has free shipping with no minimum order and got the package in 5 working days. Yeah!
You know that the first thing I look for in a foundation is that it is non-comedogenic and does not contain oils. The Invisiwear meets both of these my requirements, plus it is completely fragrance-free which is always an added bonus. The package is made of plastic, it has a pump to dispense the product and the thing I like most is that the bottom part comes up as you use it; in this way, not only can you see when you’re running out of it, but you will also avoid wastage of product and finding yourselg digging with your fingers – we’ve all been there!
The main feature of this product is to remain – as the name suggests – invisible on the skin. In fact, despite the dense gel-like consistency, it feels as light as a moisturizer on the skin, so it’s perfect for those who do not like too wear too much makeup – especially in Summer. The coverage is sheer but you can layer it up to a full-medium using a very dense brush as may be the Expert Face Brush by Real Techniques; I read some reviews where it was said that you could get a full coverage from this foundation but – take it from me, a full coverage aficionada – you’ll never get such an opaque result from this foundation because I think it is is in its nature to be as natural as possible.
It covers everything pretty well anyway, and above all this never – and I mean NEVER – look cakey. Its formula is in fact enriched with special light diffusers that help create a blur effect on the face, smoothing the wrinkles, expression lines and other imperfections of the skin, making it look more smooth, healthy and radiant. Also, it does not contain SPF, so even in the photo stands out well without too whiten the face.
I find it more suitable for dry to normal skin in Summer, and for those with combination skin could give it a go in Winter – while I don’t feel it would work on oily or very oily skins. I would like to try the first shade – F100 – for Winter because I feel like its hydrating and luminous finish would be perfect for dull Winter days.
Pigmentation-wise this is very good and with a pump I can cover the entire face, it blends perfectly and easily with the complexion and the final effect is just that of a second skin; I find it is more time-consuming to layer the foundation to get the desired coverage, and for this purpose I find it more helpful to tap with your fingertips the product where you want more coverage. Being a pretty dewy and hydrating foundation, I must say that it tends to get shiny after 6-7 hours, even if the longevity still holds a couple of hours and you can always blot it or powder it to keep shine at bay.

Do I like it? Yes a lot. I find it easy and fast to use like a BB cream but with greater coverage and a more luminous and smooth effect on the face. Personally I would have preferred a higher coverage because I am a full coverage kind of girl, but in Summer when the skin looks pretty good on its own I find it very useful and pleasant to wear.
I would not use it for an evening or for a special occasion, but for all the days I find it amazing: I love the healthy and nice glow it gives to the face, it cancels tiredness and dullness in one step and has a very fine texture. I also like that there are independent brands out there who think outside of the box and come up with something unique and extremely useful to me.

Trovare un fondotinta per pelli olivastre non ? mai facile: di solito sono tutti o troppo gialli o troppo arancioni, troppo scuri o troppo chiari, oppure tendono ad ingrigire il volto ed appiattirlo, mentre tutto quello che vorremmo noi ? un prodotto luminoso che esalti il nostro teint mediterraneo e allo stesso tempo uniformi l’incarnato, copra le imperfezioni e rimanga leggero ed invisibile sulla pelle.
Chiediamo troppo? Forse s?, ma nessuno ha mai detto che fosse facile starci dietro! 🙂
Incuriosita dal concept e dalle recensioni positive che ho visto in giro sui blog e su Youtube, ho deciso di acquistare e provare il fondotinta Invisiwear di EX1 Cosmetics. Il marchio ? stato fondato dalla biochimica Farah Naz, e la cosa che pi? mi ha colpita ? stato il fatto di voler sviluppare un prodotto che fosse targetizzato in maniera esclusiva a pelli “etniche” – vale a dire asiatiche, mediterranee, esotiche, mediorientali e far eastern; insomma, tutte quelle etnie che hanno una pelle dal sottotono naturalmente giallo o “olivastro” e che spesso non riescono a trovare sul mercato nulla che rappresenti appieno la loro carnagione non caucasica – soprattutto ad un costo cos? basso.
Questo spiega il numero limitato di colorazioni, che sono solo 5: non ci sono tonalit? pensate per persone con un incarnato molto chiaro (che di solito hanno un sottotono rosa/freddo) n? per persone di colore (che di solito hanno un sottotono rosso).
Sul sito di EX1 troverete anche una chart in cui ? possibile comparare le nuance con quelle di MAC e varie foto per trovare il vostro abbinamento perfetto. Nonostante io nelle colorazioni di MAC rientri in un NW25, in previsione dell’Estate ho acquistato il colore F200 che corrisponde al NW30-35 e devo dire che con un po’ d’abbronzatura il colore ? veramente perfetto per la mia pelle.
Il costo ? di circa 15 euro per 30 ml di prodotto; io l’ho acquistato sul sito di Lookfantastic che ha le spedizioni gratuite senza minimo d’ordine, e il pacco mi ? arrivato a casa in 5 giorni lavorativi. Yeah!
Sapete che la prima cosa che cerco in un fondotinta ? che non sia comedogenico (cio? non ostruisca i pori) e non contenga oli. L’Invisiwear soddisfa entrambe queste mie esigenze, e in pi? ? completamente privo fragranze il che ? sempre un valore aggiunto. La confezione ? in plastica, ha una pompetta per erogare il prodotto e la cosa che pi? mi piace ? che la base del packaging sale man mano che lo utilizzate; in questo modo, non solo riuscite a vedere quando sta per finire, ma eviterete anche gli sprechi ed i residui di prodotto sul fondo che dovete andare a scavare con le dita.
La caratteristica di questo prodotto ? quella di rimanere – come suggerisce il nome – invisibile sulla pelle. In effetti, nonostante la sua consistenza in gel piuttosto densa, sulla pelle ha il peso di una crema idratante, e per questo lo trovo perfetto per chi non sopporta molto il trucco, specialmente d’Estate.
La coprenza ? bassa, ma si pu? stratificare fino a diventare media-piena utilizzando un pennello molto denso a setole fitte come pu? essere l’Expert Face Brush di Real Techniques. Ho letto alcune recensioni in cui si diceva che si poteva ottenere un full coverage da questo fondotinta ma, fidatevi, da amante del full coverage non otterrete mai un risultato cos? coprente perch? penso sia nella natura stessa del fondotinta risultare il pi? naturale possibile.
Copre comunque bene le macchie e le discromie, e soprattutto non fa mai – e dico mai – l’effetto mascherone, anzi, il finish ? decisamente luminoso e semi-matte. La sua formula ? infatti arricchita con speciali diffusori di luce che aiutano a creare un effetto blur sul viso, attenuando le rughette, i segni d’espressione ed altre imperfezioni della pelle, facendola apparire pi? liscia, sana e luminosa. Inoltre, non contiene SPF, quindi anche in foto risalta bene senza sbiancare troppo il viso.
La pigmentazione ? molto buona e con una pompetta di prodotto riesco a coprire tutto il volto, si fonde in maniera perfetta e veloce con l’incarnato e l’effetto finale ? proprio quello di una seconda pelle; trovo invece pi? complicato stratificare il fondotinta per ottenete la coprenza desiderata, e a questo scopo trovo sia pi? utile picchiettare con i polpastrelli il prodotto dove desiderate maggiore correzione.
Essendo un prodotto molto luminoso ed idratante, devo dire che si lucida dopo circa 6 ore, anche se la tenuta regge ancora un altro paio di ore e basta incipriarlo per eliminare l’oleosit?. Per questo motivo lo trovo pi? indicato per le pelli da secche a normali in Estate, e per quelle miste anche in Inverno – mentre mi sentirei di sconsigliarlo a pelli da grasse a molto grasse. Vorrei provare la colorazione pi? bassa – la F100 – perch? penso che in Inverno il suo finish luminoso e la sua formula idratante diano il meglio di s?.
In definitiva mi piace molto, lo trovo un prodotto facile e veloce da utilizzare al pari di una BB cream ma con una maggiore coprenza ed un effetto pi? luminoso e bello sul viso. Personalmente avrei preferito una coprenza maggiore perch? come ho detto sopra sono amante del full coverage, ma in Estate quando la pelle migliora gi? di suo lo trovo molto utile e piacevole da indossare.
Non lo utilizzerei per una serata o per un’occasione speciale, ma per tutti i giorni lo trovo fantastico: adoro l’aspetto sano e luminoso che d? al volto, cancella la stanchezza ed il grigiore in pochi gesti ed ha una consistenza impalpabile. Inoltre mi piace che ci siano brand indipendente che pensano oltre ai soliti target e le trovate commerciali e se ne escano fuori con qualcosa di unico e secondo me estremamente utile.
